In fact, we have a dedicated unit that reports solely on environmental and community affairs to our chief operating officer.

This culture of community and environmental responsibility extends to all our activities - from building our network infrastructure to our daily office life - and we encourage all our employees to take part in community projects, particularly educational work.

In November 2003, we were proud to receive recognition of our commitment to the communities we serve when Celtel won the SMO award as the best Dutch foreign investment company of 2003. The Dutch industrial association, the SMO Foundation for Business and Society, selected Celtel as winner of its first annual prize based on our record of working for "profit, people and planet".
